No cooking & only TWO ingredients!

The first recipe uses Nutella.  My girls LOVE Nutella, and in turn LOVED this play dough.  You can also find a cheaper hazelnut spread at some dollar stores and groceries.

Instructions

This is one of those play recipes that is best mixed as you go.  With that being said I do not have exact measurements, but the recipe is REALLY easy.  Add the desired amount of nutella to a bowl, and then slowly mix in corn starch.  Slowly add more corn starch and mix until the desired consistency is reached.

You will definitely want to wash your hands once the dough is mixed and then knead it just a bit more with clean, dry hands.  You will then have the perfect chocolate play dough

Easy, fun, and smells AMAZING!

Rosie and Jewel had a lot of fun playing with their chocolate play clay, and even opened up a pretend chocolate shop.

The clay is edible too, making it great for toddlers who might be tempted to taste it.  It is totally safe to eat as long as you know your little ones do not have a nut allergy.

Here is an alternative way to make the same play material.  I am sharing this second recipe with the hope that you can use what you have in your pantry and skip buying materials.    We have made chocolate play dough both ways, and both are lots of FUN!

Chocolate Play Clay Recipe #2

Follow the above instructions, substituting the chocolate syrup for the Nutella.  That's it!  Easy, right?

A Few Tips:  You can find off brand hazelnut spreads and syrups at many groceries and even some dollar stores.  You will need a little more corn starch if using the syrup, but with the right combination the doughs will have the same consistency once mixed.  You can also use more or less corn starch in either recipe to create different dough consistencies, which is lots of fun!
