Chocolate Slime
What could be more fun than OOZING chocolate slime? In the eyes of my sweet littles not much!
Chocolate Slime Recipe (affiliate links provided)
- 3/4 teaspoons of borax
- 1 1/3 cups very warm water
Combine in small bowl
In a second bowl combine
- 2 cups of white school glue
- 1 1/2 cups very warm water
- 3-5 drops of chocolate extract
- Optional: for the richest color add a few drops of brown food coloring or liquid watercolors
Once the ingredients of both bowls are well mixed combine both bowls and mix well. As you mix the ingredients the slime will form. If the slime is at all runny dissolve a tiny amount of borax in a small amount of water and slowly add it to the slime until the desired consistency is reached
We mixed our slime in a heart bowl to add to the Valentines theme
OOZING, ooey gooey chocolate slime - SO FUN!
A Few Tips: Store your slime in a covered container between playtimes. We keep ours in a jar, but a zip seal bag will also work. Slime can get messy. We always play at the table with hard wood or a drop cloth underneath. Smocks or play clothes are a good idea, although we have gotten slime on our clothes several times, and it has always washed out. Chocolate slime is not edible, so I would reserve this activity for kids out of the mouthing stage who won't be tempted to eat it.
Helpful Info: You can find borax in the laundry aisle of stores like Walmart and Target or get it online here. We got our chocolate extract at Walmart for $2. You can also get it online here. Liquid watercolors are fantastic and can be used in tons o activities. We used brown watercolors to get the really rich brown coloring.
