Frozen Snow Recipe For Play

Rosie and Jewel LOVE Frozen. If they aren't watching the movie or singing the songs then they are playing Elsa and Anna. In light of their current obsession I have been having lots of fun putting together Frozen themed activities for them to enjoy. This sensory snow was a HUGE hit with my little ice princesses.

Frozen Snow

"The snow glows white on the mountain tonight; not a foot print to be seen....."

This is our absolute favorite sensory snow. It is naturally cold, delightfully squishy, mold-able, and magical! We have made this snow a few times in the past, so I knew it would be perfect for some Frozen themed play.

Frozen Snow Recipe (affiliate links provided)

2 large boxes of baking soda
Up to 1/2 a bottle of hand lotion or hair conditioner
Blue and/or silver glitter
We also added:

-Frozen Figurines

-Snowflake cookie cutters

-Blue beads

Method

This amazing recipe for play only takes a minute to make. Slowly combine the baking soda and lotion/hair conditioner in a sensory bin or large storage container and mix well. Continue to add more lotion and mix it in until the desired consistency is reached. You want the snow to be moist and mold-able but not too wet. The snow will also be COLD; so cool!

Rosie and Jewel had so much fun playing in their Frozen snow. They acted out parts of the movie with their figurines, made snowballs, & built their own Olaf's together

They played and played with the super soft snow and have asked to play with it at least once a day since we made it.

Storage & Tips: Store your sensory snow in a covered bin or air tight container, and it will stay good for several play times. You can store the snow in the fridge to make it extra cold. You can also add vinegar to this activity to make MAGIC snow. Just fill a few squirt bottles with vinegar and kids will surely have a BLAST! We got our Frozen figurines online here. Don't forget to play the Frozen soundtrack while kids play; my girls loved that!
