Rosie and Jewel love Disney's Frozen, and we have been having so much fun this week bringing the movie to life through fun activities. The girls loved painting Olaf and making Frozen sensory snow, but I think this icy and OoEy slime has been the favorite Frozen activity so far.Frozen Slime Reicpe
What could be more fun than super sparkly, ultra oozy, and delightfully cold Frozen themed slime? For my two Frozen fanatics not much!
Frozen Slime Recipe
- 1 bottle of chilled blue glitter glue
- Up to 8 oz of cold liquid starch
Method
This recipe could not be more simple. Begin by refrigerating your liquid starch and blue glue for a few hours. We placed ours in the fridge overnight so that it would be icy cold and ready for play the next day. Once the ingredients are cold combine them in a bowl and mix well. Add the glue to your bowl first, and then slowly add up to one cup of starch and mix. Using cold ingredients seemed to slightly alter the proportions needed; Rosie and Jewel used slightly more glue than starch for this specific recipe, and that gave us the perfect slime
The ingredients are surprisingly cold and icy. Rosie and Jewel loved the added sensory element, and it really captured the Frozen movie theme. The girls loved mixing the slime
Once the proportions were right and the ingredients were good and mixed we had the most sparkly and delightfully cold Frozen slime
We could stretch it, pull it, and even see through it
The slime felt so icy cold that both girls simply loved holding it and feeling it OOZE between their fingers. After a bit of free exploration they added Frozen figurines and found all sorts of ways to PLAY!
This slime would also makes a fantastic favor for a Frozen themed party. Jewel's birthday is almost here, and this slime just might be what I give out for favors. Either way I think I will be giving some of our super fun Frozen slime out to Jewel and Rosie's friends; the littles are all so in love with the movie it is sure to make them smile!
Tips & Storage: Liquid starch can be found in the laundry aisle of most major stores or online here. I have seen blue glitter glue at places like Michaels and Walmart; you can also find it online here. Store your slime in a zip seal bag between playtimes and it will stay good for several months. You can also store in in the fridge to keep it icy cold.
Troubleshooting: This base slime calls for equal parts, but you may need to add more or less of one of the ingredients to get the perfect Frozen slime. If your slime is at all liquid-y add more glue. If it is too sticky add more liquid starch. The best way to get the perfect slime is to play with the ingredients a bit; you will know when you have it!
