Kool-aid FOAM
Kool-aid FOAM Recipe (affiliate links provided)
- Dish soap
- Kool-aid packets (without sugar)
- Water
- Optional: Washable liquid watercolors for rich color (or food coloring)
Method
- In a large bowl combine 1/4 cups of water with a hefty squirt of dish soap (no need to measure). Add one Kool-aid packet and mix on high for 1-3 minutes using an electric mixer. The longer you mix the fluffier the foam will become
- We also added a few drops of washable watercolors so that our foam would be vibrantly colored, but this isn't necessary. Make sure you use a large enough bowl, because the soap foam rises up a lot during the mixing process. I bought four large bowls at the Dollar Tree and mixed four different colors of Kool-aid foam side by side at the same time. Once the foams were super fluffy I spooned them into our sensory bin and set the girls loose
Doesn't this look so FUN & irresistible to touch?
Both girls had such great fun playing with the fluffy, colorful, & delightfully squishy foam
It smelled AMAZING, too!
And the girls found so many ways to play! They squished and mixed and cooked and blended. They formed foamy mountains, made colorful soap pies, and gave their ponies a bath. It is amazing the fun they had with this simple recipe for play, and once playtime was over the whole house smelled amazing!
A Few Tips: We used washable liquid watercolors to add extra color to our foam, and that worked great. If you don't have washable watercolors and would like to purchase them you can get them online here. You could also use food coloring, but it will stain the skin during play. However, it will easily come off in the bath, especially if you let kids play in the water for a bit.
