Melting Heart Paint
Activity for Kids
Making melting heart paint is really easy. All you need is washable paint and a heart ice cube tray. You could also use a regular ice tray and just make regular frozen paint. We went with a heart theme since Valentine's Day is close. Fill the ice slots 1/2 way with paint and half way with water. Mix the water into the paint and pop the tray in the freezer for 4-6 hours. That's it! Once the paint is frozen it will easily pop out from the ice tray
I set Rosie and Jewel up with paper hearts to paint, and they had lots of fun creating and exploring the texture of the melting ice paint
Both girls really enjoyed feeling the paint transform and change consistencies in their hands
Rosie loved breaking the ice hearts up to mix and blend colors
Process art at it's best!
Once the girls were done painting we turned the hearts over and squished them onto the drop paper to remove any large paint clumps. This process was fun and produced really neat blotted art effects.
