Last week, I shared how our changing table was one of the many baby items we as parents did not need, and found we really didn't use. So began the project of repurposing it! While my husband was getting crafty with the changing table itself, Rosie and I had great fun re-purposing our changing table pad by turning it into a giant sponge for Giant Sponge Sensory Play.
My husband finally finished the changing table conversion, and I just love what he created!
Changing Table Turned Dress Up Station
Turning our changing table into a dress up station was very simple and cost almost nothing. The original changing table looked like this.
The first thing my husband did was take out the middle shelf. Then, we bought an inexpensive curtain rod like this one , and he screwed it to the underside of the top shelf.
He then hand painted butterflies and flowers onto it to match our daughters CoCaLo Sugar Plum bedroom theme. I just love the whimsical feel of his artistic creations!
He also hot glued pretty gems to it.
We placed a basket on the bottom shelf for all of Rosie and Jewel's crowns, hats, and wands. My husband also hung a hooked jewelry holder that he found for a couple dollars to hold the girls many beaded necklaces and other accessories.
We used the top shelf to hold stuffed animals and dolls. Rosie loves dressing up her collection and playing the mommy.
Rosie adores her new dress up station!
We have already gotten more use out if it than we did with the changing table in two years!
And now, for some of Rosie's favorite roles... just too cute not to share....
Indian warrior!
A bunny!
She thought it was the coolest thing that her and her favorite bunny both had a tail.
This led to the Bunny Princess
And then continued to Rosie dressing up bunny!
